We were delighted to welcome Karl Iver Dahl-Madsen to London to give a talk on the subject of ‘Climate Change and Food Security: Minimal Impact?’

Karl Iver Dahl-Madsen is a Danish chemical engineer, author and environmental strategist with a career spanning aquatic ecological modelling, aquaculture innovation, and agricultural policy. In the 1970s he helped pioneer mathematical models of the aquatic environment, and later led the promotion of recirculating aquaculture systems in Europe. He has held senior roles in Danish industry and research institutions, including the Danish Hydraulic Institute and the national aquaculture organisation. Karl Iver is a founding voice in Klimarealisme, a Danish initiative promoting realism and proportionality in climate and environmental debates. His current focus is on food systems, where he argues that economic development and technological progress — not climate policy — will determine the future of global nutrition.

The slides from the presentation, which took place on Tuesday 29th April, are available here.
